Civil engineering is the field of
engineering that deals with a wide
range of sub-specializations such as
structural engineering, highway and
transportation engineering,
hydraulic and hydraulic structures,
geotechnical engineering,
environmental engineering, water
supply and waste water systems,
hydrology, construction technology
and construction management and
runoff estimates. In that respect,
in accordance to international
trends, civil engineering students
are expected to have knowledge of
all the above fields during their
study course. Bachelor of Science program in Civil
Engineering lays a heavy emphasis on
practical application of knowledge,
while at the same time recognizes
the importance of development of
correct attitudes alongside
theoretical and intellectual
development of the graduate engineer
This curriculum is designed to equip
graduates to face the challenge of
modern engineering practice. Both
the theoretical and practical
aspects of the various civil
engineering subspecialties will be
covered through the course of study
enabling the graduates to plan,
analyze, design and execute civil
engineering projects. Modern
approaches, technologies and
practical applications in the stated
areas are emphasized. Thus technical
instruction with modern
instrumentation, hardware, and
software is reinforced with
foundation courses emphasizing
written and oral communication, and
physical sciences. All of the
instruction is presented with
problem solving in mind and with a
strong emphasis on applications and
critical thinking.
2. Career Opportunities:
Graduates can seek employment in a
wide range of civil engineering
specialties. These include bridge
